Candice is a Paediatric Haematologist and has first-hand experience in the counselling of patients and their families. She knows the importance of inclusivity and empathy in caring for patients with Cancer and is passionate about enhancing patient care by way of easily-understandable education. She is the “Creator” of the animation content and serves as the Liaison in the Paediatric Community to promote the LMAS concept.
Simone Hendricks

Simone is a Medical Doctor with experience in Paediatrics and HIV Research. Her mission is to provide the appropriate networks to realise the LMAS vision across all Paediatrics disciplines in South Africa. She serves as the Funding Coordinator and actively seeks Funding for the development of more animation content.
Michelle Hendricks

Michelle, an Accountant, joined the team as the “Bean Counter” and Designer and ensures that all administrative- and financial affairs are in order. With a strong view to improve education in South Africa, she provides a logistical overview of how LMAS may expand to ensure greater reach to all who require it.

Sbekezelo Hlophe
Non-Executive Director
Sbe is one of a handful of Paediatric intensivists in the country. She understands the complexity and sensitivity with which counselling of children and their caregivers must be undertaken, especially when faced with severe illness. She provides insight into the translated scripts and will assist in developing critical illness content as the Lusandi brand expands.
Ayanda Msomi
Non-Executive Director
Ayanda is a Paediatrician with a special interest in child health. Having completed her postgraduate child health diploma, she is passionate about meeting the health and education needs of marginalised communities. Her strengths are in advising on translated scripts and will assist in the development of general paediatric content as the company grows.
Marelize Bosman
Non-Executive Director
Marelize is a Paediatric Cardiologist with a postgraduate diploma in palliative care. Having worked both in the private- and public sectors in South Africa, she has a unique perspective regarding the different ways in which medical animations can serve patients. She will assist in outlining the different story synopses overall and particularly pertaining to paediatric cardiology and palliative care.
Hamida van Staaden
Non-Executive Director
Hamida is a Paediatric Oncologist. In providing oncology care to some of the poorest communities she has realised the importance of providing access to easily understandable educational content for patients and families, particularly in their home language. She will assist in guiding the development of paediatric oncology content.
